March in Idir: Attacks on Rojava must stop, its status must be recognised 2025-01-18 14:09:18   ÎDIR - A march was organised in Îdir against the attacks against North and East Syria. "The attacks must be stopped and the status of Syria must be recognised," says DEM Party MP Yılmaz Hun   A march was organised in Idir against the attacks of Turkey and the Syrian National Army (SNA) against North and East Syria. The mass gathered in front of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Provincial Organization building and marched towards Musa Anter Peace Monument. The slogans "Bijî berxwedana Rojava (Long live resistance of Rojava)" and "No to war, peace is now" were chanted and the banner "No to wars and occupations, peace is now" was carried.   Speaking first in the statement made after the march, Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Îdir MP Yılmaz Hun said that while on the one hand talks are being held in İmralı, on the other hand war policies continue unabated. Hun said, "Just at a time when the people of Turkey are pinning their hopes on, the AKP-MHP government is attacking Rojava every day and dozens of people are being massacred every day. Again, trustees are appointed to our municipalities. Every day, the Kurdish people are targeted with attacks by UCAVs and gangs. Kurds stopped ISIS in 2014 and an equal life was built in Rojava. For this reason, the whole world is indebted to the Kurdish people. Rojava is a place created by the joint struggle of the Kurdish people and their friends. It is not possible to talk about peace while Rojava is being attacked and people are being massacred. Turkey must immediately recognise the status of Rojava."   'PEOPLES ARE RESISTING IN ROJAVA'   Speaking afterwards, Agirî MP Heval Bozdağ said, "Peoples are resisting in Rojava for a common life. No one has the right to object and usurp this. You cannot leave any people without identity. What do you mean attacking dams and bombing hospitals? Even war has ethics, but they are not respected. You cannot attack civilians and press labourers. What does it mean to massacre press labourers who want to speak the truth there? We want these attacks to stop immediately and a climate of peace to be established."   After the statement, the crowd marched to the DEM Party provincial building with slogans.
