Ahmad has been reunited with her baby, who was taken "hostage" by the hospital because she could not pay for his birth. Palestinian Samah Raf'at A. was reunited with her baby after Mezopotamya Agency's (MA) news report "Palestinian woman's baby taken 'hostage' after failing to pay birth expenses" . Samah Raf'at A. stated that she was given her baby yesterday without being charged and returned to her home in Fatih, Istanbul.   WHAT HAPPENED   Palestinian Samah Raf'at A. Ahmad, who lives in Fatih district of Istanbul and was pregnant with her second child, gave birth on 11 January at Süleymaniye Obstetrics and Gynecology Training and Research Hospital in Zeytinburnu. The hospital invoiced Samah Raf'at A. Ahmad 40 thousand TL for the birth expenses. The hospital said that it would not give the baby to her if she did not bring the money.
