Let's embrace Rojava says TJA membet Rojbin Bor 2025-02-02 10:03:39   WAN - TJA activist Rojbin Bor pointed out that the attacks against North and East Syria are aimed to break the will for self-governance.  "Let's embrace Rojava and shoulder the women's freedom struggle," she says.   The attacks of Turkey and the affiliated Syrian National Army (SNA) against North and East Syria continue uninterruptedly. Many citizens have been killed or wounded so far due to the attacks centred around the Tishreen Dam. The Health Board of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced that 41 people were killed and 245 people were wounded in the last 22 days. Among the wounded are 7 journalists and 6 health workers.   Commenting on the attacks, Free Women's Movement (Tevgera JinĂȘn Azad-TJA) activist Rojbin Bor said, "These are attacks against the possibility of the Kurds gaining status, against the Kurdish people's will for self-government. The construction of a democratic, ecological, women's libertarian paradigm built at great cost is in question there. The main reason for the attacks is to uproot the Kurdish people, to make them landless and to eliminate the Kurdish utopia."    Rojbin Bor said that women led the revolution in North and East Syria and that a utopia was turned into reality, and that women were also targeted with the attacks. Rojbin Bor said, "There is a women's revolution taking place in North and East Syria. A concrete and tangible women's revolution has taken place. They are trying to hit the cornerstone and motor power of the revolution. Unfortunately, women are the first target in all wars or conflicts."    'LET'S EMBRACE NORTH AND EAST SYRIA'   Referring to the similarities between what is happening in North and East Syria and what is happening in Palestine, Rojbin Bor said, "Therefore, Rojava should not be separated from the reality of Palestine. In other words, the human tragedy in Palestine and the human tragedy in Rojava are not very different from each other. We believe that the same spirit of solidarity that yielded results in Palestine can also be realised in Rojava. We call for a war-free and conflict-free environment where the lives of all peoples living in North and East Syria can be guaranteed and protected."   Describing the silence of international powers against the attacks as "hypocrisy", Rojbin Bor added, "International powers and peoples who are human rights orientated and who defend democracy should show a reflex against the attacks. Kurds and friends of Kurds should be in solidarity. What is happening there is a human tragedy and a call to the conscience of all of us. Let's embrace Rojava and shoulder the paradigm created by the women's liberation struggle there together."
