44 countries call for Pakshan Azizi and Werisheh Moradi 2025-02-06 14:36:48   NEWS CENTER - One thousand 200 names from 44 countries called for the abolition of Iran's death sentence against Pakshan Azizi and Werisheh Moradi and for a common struggle.   Reactions against the death sentence given to Pakshan Azizi and Werisheh Moradi by the Iranian regime are growing. One thousand 200 people from 44 countries issued a joint statement addressed to more than 100 international feminist, civil society and human rights organizations and networks against the death sentences imposed by the Iranian regime. The statement called on the Iranian aouthourities to immediately lift the death sentence against journalist and activist Pakshan Azizi and activist Werisheh Moradi and to put pressure on the Iranian authorities to release the prisoners.    The statement called for a joint struggle against the death sentences in Iran and stated that women's rights organisations should take every opportunity to hold the Iranian authorities to account for the dangerous scale of the executions of women.   Some of the signatories of the statement are listed as follows: Gulrokh İreyi, Zeyneb Jalaliyan, Nargis Mohammadi, Meryem Sedat Yehyavi, Hura Nigbekht, Sakina Perwane, Mutehare Goyi and Vida Rebani.
