There is great resistance in Tishreen against attacks says Journalist Deniz 2025-02-10 09:23:52 RIHA - Journalist Zana Deniz stated that the resistance is as great as the attacks of Turkey and its affiliated SNA against the Tishreen Dam and said, "The people continue to protect their land, water and electricity." The attacks launched by Turkey and its affiliated Syrian National Army (SNA) against North and East Syria, simultaneously with the attacks of Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham that resulted in the overthrow of the Baath regime, are concentrated in Tishreen Dam. Since 8 December 2024, the vigil against the intensified attacks on Qereqozaq Bridge and Tishreen Dam has left 34 days behind. More than ten thousand people have participated in the vigil, which was taken over in groups. In the attacks against the people on guard, 24 people were killed and at least 200 people were injured.   Journalist Zana Deniz, who followed the developments in Tishreen Dam, which has a strategic importance in the region, said that despite all technological means, Turkey and the SNA affiliated to it could not break the resistance with attacks. Deniz said that Turkey and the SNA, which did not achieve their goals, committed war crimes by targeting civilians and noted that basic infrastructure such as water and electricity were targeted in the attacks and that they wanted to make living conditions difficult.   Stating that in Tishreen there is a great resistance against the attacks Deniz said, "Turkey could not and cannot achieve what it wants despite using all its heavy and technical weapons. They have not been able to take a step forward here for two months. This reveals the decisive role of North and East Syria in all of Syria. The people continue to protect their land, water and electricity. Violent clashes continue in the countryside of Manbij, 2 to 3 kilometres from the Tishreen Dam."   Journalist Zana Deniz   Stating that there is a news flow about the attacks in the mainstream media that contradicts the reality, Deniz added, "The people are still here, there is a similar situation in Qaraqozaq. However, a big war is being waged through the media. Journalists in the field are being targeted. Journalists Nazım Daştan and Cihan Bilgin were murdered as a result of attacks. We clearly see here how the truth is targeted. However, despite all the attacks, the resistance continues and the attacks of the occupying Turkish state have been frustrated so far."   Stating that the people of the region suffered great damage due to the attacks, Deniz stressed: "Almost 80 percent of the electricity needs of the people in Manbij, Gire Spi, Tishreen and Qareqozaq regions cannot be met. It is becoming increasingly difficult to benefit from life services. Turkey is also waging a war here through the media. However, the Autonomous Administration is constantly sharing the most reliable information. People need to be conscious against these special war policies. Qereqozaq Bridge and Tishreen Dam are strategically important for the region. Tishreen is 57 kilometres from Kobani and 70 kilometres from Aleppo. At the same time, the road between Iraq and Syria passes through Tişrin. It is at a strategic point in terms of both economic and underground resources. This is the reason why Turkey wants to occupy this place."   "They want to avenge ISIS with the attacks," said Deniz and added, "Since ISIS was defeated in Kobanê, they have been targeting this place continuously. They want to take revenge for ISIS. If they occupy this place, their next targets will be Kobani and Tabqa. However, the people and fighters are resisting with great determination."   MA / Delal Akyüz
