Tent set up in Wan against trustee attempt 2025-02-11 16:43:14   WAN - People set up a watch tent in front of the municipality after Wan Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayor Abdullah Zeydan was sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison, paving the way for the appointment of a trustee to the municipality.    Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court sentenced Wan (Van) Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayor Abdullah Zeydan to 3 years and 9 months in prison for "knowingly and willingly aiding a terrorist organization", paving the way for the appointment of a trustee to the municipality. After the verdict, the people flocked in front of the municipality against the possibility of appointing a trustee to the municipality. While the crowd in front of the municipality increased every hour, citizens in front of the municipality set up a watch tent. The crowd gathered in front of the municipality frequently chanted slogans such as "Bijî berxwedana gelê Kurd (Long live resistance of the Kurdish people)", "We will win if we resist" and "Abdullah Zeydan, Neslihan Şedal are our honour".   The crowd continue to protest against the court decision with music and applause.
