After 31 years in his hometown 2025-04-29 15:30:47   ÊLIH - Nurettin Çelebi, who was released from prison after 31 years, was enthusiastically welcomed in his hometown Êlih.   Nurettin Çelebi released from Antalya Döşemealtı S-Type Closed Prison on 26 April after 31 years. He was enthusiastically welcomed in his hometown Êlih (Batman). A large number of people, including executives of the Association for Assistance to Families of Prisoners (TUAY-DER) and Çelebi's relatives, attended the welcome. Çelebi was welcomed with applause and cheers in Girêsira (Balpınar) town. Çelebi greeted the people who welcomed him and danced with them. Çelebi and his entourage then travelled to Emekli Toki neighbourhood with a convoy of vehicles.   Çelebi emphasised that Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" dated 27 February is important for the Kurdish people. Çelebi invited everyone to embrace the call.
