
Release of 8 prisoners revented: No release in Kırşehir S-Type

	KONYA - Human Rights Association (IHD) Ankara Branch co-chair Omer Faruk Yazmaci met with prioners in Kırşehir S-Type Closed Prison and he stated that relese of 8 prisoners prevented between July and October. "Kırşehir S-Type does not release anyone," he said.&nbsp;

	The pressure and rights violations against prisoners in prisons remain on the agenda. IHD Ankara Branch co-chair Yazmaci held a meeting with prisoners on 17 October. He stated that although most of the prisoners in the prison in question have completed their execution perison, their release is prevented by the "arbitrary" decisions of the Administration and Observation Board. "Remorse is imposed on prisoners. In the justifications of all prisoners, the phrase 'unrepentant behaviour has been observed' is written," Yazmaci said.&nbsp;

	'PKK PRISONERS ARE TREATED WITH REVENGE'

	Yazmaci said that PKK prisoners in prisons are treated with a historical sense of revenge and emphasised that the committees see themselves above the courts and that the names on the committees are never seen by the prisoners.&nbsp;

	He added: "Boards produce extremely illogical excuses in decisions that directly affect human life, and executions are prolonged on irrational grounds. It is clear that PKK prisoners are treated with a sense of historical revenge."&nbsp;

	Yazmacı said: "It is seen in the judgements that the release of political prisoners in the Central Anatolia Region is prevented by asking questions such as 'Who is Öcalan', 'Do you regret', 'Name the enemies of Turkey' in the Administrative Observation Boards. Execution is prolonged on the grounds of 'not having an active student life'. Again, the execution is tried to be prolonged on the pretext that prisoners argue with their families during phone calls and cannot integrate with the society."&nbsp;

	Huseyin Bilecan, Ebubekir Yulu and Ahmet Nas' release was prevented for the 4th time for 6 months. The releases of Hacı Geciken, Cemil İvrendi were prevented for the 3rd time for 6 months. The release of Recep Ergulu, Mustafa Sihi, Mikail Sakli was prevented for the first time for 6 months.&nbsp;
