NEWS CENTER – In a statement addressing the attacks carried out by HTS and Turkey-backed paramilitary groups, PAJK declared, “Today is the day of national unity and the defense of the people and Rojava,” calling on all internationalist organizations that have taken part in the resistance against ISIS in Rojava to join the ongoing struggle.

 

The Coordination of PAJK (Partiya Azadiya Jinên Kurdistanê) issued a written statement regarding the escalating attacks targeting the Kurdish people in North and East Syria. Emphasizing that Rojava has been resisting a major offensive for days, the statement said, “We commemorate all the martyrs of this resistance with respect and gratitude. The attacks that began in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh and continued in Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, Kobane, Shaddadi, and Hasakah constitute genocidal assaults against the Kurdish people. These are attacks aimed at the complete liquidation of Rojava. Our people are being confronted with a choice between surrender or death. The Kurdish people, and in particular the people of Rojava, are declaring to the entire world across all of Rojava that, as a symbol of resistance, they have no stance other than to resist and live freely. The call for mobilization there is a call addressed to all our people, our youth, and our friends.”

 

‘THE ROJAVA REVOLUTION IS UNDER ATTACK’

 

In the statement, it was emphasized that Rojava stood as a shield for all humanity against the brutality and oppression of ISIS, stating that more than 12,000 people lost their lives in this struggle. The statement noted that Rojava defended peace, coexistence, and democracy in the region against the wars and massacres imposed on the Middle East. For fourteen years, it said, a libertarian system based on democratic coexistence, gender equality, and the unity of Kurdish, Arab, Syriac, Armenian, and all other peoples has been built. Describing Rojava as a women’s revolution, the statement stressed that this revolution is now facing a major assault, adding that all women and peoples in Rojava are confronting the threat of massacre.

 

‘A SECOND LAUSANNE IS BEING PLANNED’

 

In the statement, it was stressed that despite ongoing talks to implement the March 10 agreement between the Damascus administration and the Rojava administration, and despite ceasefire decisions both in Aleppo and west of the Euphrates, armed groups have continued to carry out attacks against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) under the name of the Syrian army. The statement continued:

 

“By consistently using provocative language and citing the alleged non-implementation of the March 10 agreement as a pretext, the Turkish state has now revealed that it is part of this attack plan. It is clear that the genocidal and occupation assault against Rojava, launched since January 6, has been put into effect as part of an international plan. The silence of international powers in the face of these attacks, and even statements that embolden Damascus’ assaults, demonstrate that a second Lausanne is being planned against the Kurdish people. The planner and director of these attacks is the Turkish state. This shows that the real target is also the Peace and Democratic Society process that our Leader has persistently sought to advance in Turkey. While our people and women are being subjected to massacres in Rojava, it must be understood that such a process cannot be sustained in Bakur.”

 

‘THE RESISTANCE WILL PUNCTURE THE CONSPIRACY’

 

Pointing to the activation of a new dark conspiracy against the peoples, the statement emphasized that this plot aims to dismantle the will and system of peoples living together in fraternity. Stressing that the peoples and the resistance across the four parts of Kurdistan will defeat this conspiracy, the statement said:

 

“The forces that brought ISIS to power by changing its guise are the planners of this conspiracy. Just as the United States abandoned Afghanistan to the Taliban, it is now abandoning Syria to the remnants of ISIS, thereby endorsing the massacre of all women and peoples. Under the control of such a power and authority in Syria, no one has a guarantee of life. These woman-hating killers seek to take revenge for ISIS’ defeat from the people and women of Rojava. The whole world sees and watches this. What was done to comrade Deniz and our people in Aleppo can never be forgotten. We will not forget. It has once again been proven that women in Syria and Rojava will not be left without self-defense. Just as women, under the leadership of the YPJ, defeated ISIS, today too, under the leadership of the YPJ, women will defend the Rojava revolution everywhere and consign these murderous gangs to the darkness of history.”

 

‘WE CALL ON OUR INTERNATIONALIST FRIENDS TO DEFEND ROJAVA’

 

In the continuation of the statement, it was stressed that Rojava will not surrender and will continue to protect its dignity and existence. The statement said: 

“The Kurdish people and women will not remain silent in the face of this genocide. Against the conspiracy imposed on Rojava and the policies of genocide, we call on all women, our people, our internationalist friends, women’s movements, and all conscientious and democratic humanity to defend Rojava. All women and youth must take ownership of Rojava and strengthen the resistance through all forms of action. From Bakur to Bashur and to Europe, all our people must mobilize for Rojava, the apple of the Kurdish people’s eye, their conscience, and a symbol of freedom.”

 

‘ROJAVA MUST BE DEFENDED EVERYWHERE’

 

The statement concluded by stressing that all Kurdish youth must rise up and defend Rojava everywhere. Calling on all internationalist groups and organizations that took part in the resistance against ISIS in Rojava, PAJK urged them to stand by the Rojava revolution and join the resistance.

“Today is the day of national unity and the defense of the people and Rojava. Today is the day to protect our existence, our dignity, and the revolution that has grown through the sacrifice of tens of thousands of martyrs. Today is the day of resistance against the ISIS mentality and its partners who seek to dismantle the women’s liberationist, democratic, and ecological system,” the statement said.

 

It also brought honour to the people who have been taking action everywhere since the attacks began and to all heroic fighters who have been resisting selflessly to defend the people. The statement has been  concluded by emphasizing that the resistance of the people and their heroic defense forces will thwart these plans, secure the freedom of the Kurdish people, and ultimately lead to victory.
