ANKARA - A delegation from the Unified European Left Group at PACE will hold a series of meetings in Ankara regarding Abdullah Öcalan’s legal status, the “right to hope,” and the ongoing political process.

 

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Unified European Left Group delegation will conduct a number of meetings in Ankara tomorrow to discuss Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s legal status, the “right to hope,” and political developments in Turkey.

 

The delegation will begin its program with a press statement in front of the Ministry of Justice. Berdan Öztürk and Sevilay Çelenk are also expected to attend the press conference.

 

The PACE delegation will then meet with DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları at the party’s headquarters. As part of the program, the delegation is also scheduled to meet with members of the İmralı Delegation at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

 

The delegation will hold further meetings with PACE members from other political parties represented in parliament. The final event of the day will be a meeting with representatives of civil society organizations.

 

The delegation’s Ankara schedule is as follows:

 

10:15 – Press statement in front of the Ministry of Justice

 

11:00 – Meeting with DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları

 

12:30 – Meeting with members of the İmralı Delegation at the TBMM

 

14:00 – Meeting with PACE members from other political parties

 

17:30 – Meeting with representatives of civil society organizations.
