ANKARA - The journalists following the bar heads' protest outside the parliament faced police attack. As Artı TV Ankara correspondent Sibel Hürtaş was detained, Mezopotamya Agency reporters were fined for not comforming to the "social distancing".

 

Bar heads who have been on protest outside the Turkish Parliament moved to march to the Ankara Courthouse to file a criminal complaint regarding the ban on their demonstration by the Ankara Governor's Office.

 

The journalists who were following the march of the bar heads has faced police attack. Many journalists including Mezopotamya Agency (MA) and Artı TV reporters were fined for not conforming to the "social distancing" rules. Artı TV Ankara Correspondent were detained by force by the police.

 

'I HAVE BEEN MISTREATED'

 

Sharing a post in her Twitter account regarding her detention Hürtaş said, "I am detained. I have been mistreated as I was being taken to the police station."

 

DEPUTIES BATTERED BY THE POLICE

 

As the deputies reacted to the detention of the journalist Hürtaş police raised the tension. Police showed "social distancing rule" as the ground for detention. CHP Deputy reacted, "You can not detain people for simple reasons like that". 

 

Thereupon undercover cops battered the deputy as they also insulted him verbally.
