NEWS CENTER- Theologian-writer İhsan Eliaçık announced on social media that he was sentenced to 1 year and 2 months for insulting President Erdoğan.
 
Theologian-writer İhsan Eliaçık announced on social media that he was sentenced to 1 year and 2 months for insulting President and AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
 
Eliaçık stated that he was accused of a comment made to his post by someone who had a dog for a profile picture, stating that he called the president a dog.
 
Eliaçık said: "I was sentenced to 1 year and 2 months in prison in one of the law suits filed against me with the charge of insulting the President. Again, I was sentenced to 1 year and 2 months in prison for insulting the President. Someone commented on one of my tweets with a dog picture as his profile picture, and I was sentenced for calling the president a dog."
