ŞIRNAK - HDP Şırnak MP Hüseyin Kaçmaz said that the condition of judicial control is a method of isolation and submission.

The condition of "judicial control" imposed following the increasing detentions and arrests of dissidents in recent years restricts the lives of people. Hundreds of citizens who have to sign at the police station, sometimes more than once a week, can not go out of the city, or the country. In Şırnak, almost at least one person from each family has a judicial control order. Those who have to go out of the city and work due to the limited job opportunities in the city cannot leave the city for this reason.

Commenting on the issue, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak MP and Lawyer Hüseyin Kaçmaz, said  that the government uses the judicial control as a punishment for the opposition by the hand of the judiciary.

Drawing attention to the fact that the judicial control order is being used to impoverish the people into submission, Kaçmaz said: "It is very common in Şırnak.  It is a situation where the government clearly monopolizes the judiciary and uses it in line with its own political interests. Especially the opposition and the Kurds are exposed to this practice."

THEY ARE BEING PUNISHED FINANCIALLY

Kaçmaz said: "Judicial control restricts a person's right to travel. If the person has to go to the police station a couple of times a week, they can not work outside the city, so their right to work is denied. For this reason, many people face economic problems. This is also common in many border cities. These cities usually make their living through border trade. For example the people who do border trade or working as a driver, can not work due to the judicial control orders. This way, they are being punished economically."
