NEWS CENTER - YNK Politburo member Mehmûd Sengawî stated that the "war decision" was taken by Mesut Barzani, not the Federated Kurdistan Parliament, and said, "We have informed the KDP that we are not in favor of war."

 

Mehmud Sengawi, a member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (YNK) Politburo evaluating the decision of war taken after the attack on KDP Leader Mesut Barzani's residence, told that they informed the KDP to avoid a possible war that they do not favour war. Speaking to Rownews , Sengawi stated that the war against the PKK was taken unilaterally by Mesut Barzani.

 

YNK AND GORAN BECOME MEDIATORS

 

Stating that the Ministry of Peshmerge does not have any information about the forces sent to Behdinan, Sengawî stated that the YNK and the Goran (Change) Movement are mediators to prevent a possible war.

 

'WE WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE WAR'

 

Underlining that the YNK will not participate in a possible war, Sengawi said, "We will try to be a means for good, not war. We have informed the KDP that we are not in favor of war."

 

'DECISION WAS TAKEN BY BARZANI'

 

Emphasizing that the decision of war can only be made by the Federated Kurdistan Parliament, Sengawi said, "The Parliament does not have such a decision. All parties are unaware of such a thing. This decision is taken by Mr. Mesut Barzani alone. We do not support it."

 

CALL TO SOLVE THE ISSUE WITH DIALOGUE

 

Speaking about the response of Murat Karayılan, a member of the PKK Executive Committee who said they were ready to solve the inner issues with diaologue no matter what, Sengawi mentioned Barzani's response and said, "We too are also in favour of dialogue. Our call to Barzani is that he should contanct PKK in order to avoid war and solve the problems with dialogue."
