HAKKARI - Memkava village, where the military operation was continuing, was besieged in Yüksekova.

 

The military operation launched on September 18 in the villages of Memkava, Dara, Kaport and Nebarê in Hakkari's Yüksekova district continues. While those detained in Memkava village were released, Esat Çakmak, who was beaten and detained in Dara village, is still being held in Yüksekova District Police Department.

According to the information received, all roads are under blockade in the rural areas where the operation continues. City Surveillance Cameras and camera traps were placed on the roads in the rural areas of the village. It has been learned that military activity is concentrated in the highlands and hills of Dola Kubê, Dola Xokê, Kelega, Serê Gorangê and Mişkan in the Memkava countryside.

 

The residents of Memkava village stated that those who went to the tablelands to milk their sheep were blocked by the soldiers and they were checked for identity cards. Noting that those who do not have an identity card are not allowed to go to the tablelands, the villagers stated that they are subject to identity checks even when they go to their neighbors' houses. Village residents said that non-resident citizens are not allowed to enter the village and it is de facto forbidden.
