ÇANAKKALE - It was stated that the Gendarmerie, who intervened in the fight between two families in the village of Civler in Çanakkale, killed a person named Süleyman Cabir and tortured his family members.

 

According to the information received, a fight broke out between a citizen named Süleyman Cabir, who immigrated from Wan to the Civler village of Çanakkale, and the Özenç families, one of the locals of the village. Enver Özenç lost his life in the fight between the two families. The gendarmerie, who came to the scene after the fight, attacked the Cabir family.

 

CONFIDENTIALITY ORDER

 

It is stated that the gendarmerie killed Süleyman Cabir with a firearm here. It was learned that the gendarmerie who murdered Cabir took the family members he tortured to Anafartalar Police Station. In addition, it was noted that a confidentiality order was brought to the investigation initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

 

It was stated that the gendarme who killed Cabir was taken into custody; however, the commander who gave the order was not detained. Lawyer Zilan Leventoğlu, who stated that his family members were tortured by the gendarmerie, underlined that the gendarmes fired by aiming. Leventoğlu said, “The gendarmerie shot at family members many times, aiming at the father and hitting him under the rib cage. They were badly beaten by the gendarmerie apart from just shooting with a gun.”
