NEWS CENTER - HDP condemned the detention of more than 100 people, including journalists, politicians, lawyers and union leaders, as "This operation is an operation to steal the ballot box and the will of the people."

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Board (MYK) condemned with a written statement the detention of more than 100 people, including journalists, politicians, lawyers and union leaders. It was said in the statement: "The AKP-MHP government, which is on the eve of the biggest election defeat in its history, continues to attack our party, non-governmental organizations, social dynamics and opposition with the panic and fear it has experienced. Our Co-Chair Özlem Gündüz, among them our Co-President Özlem Gündüz, carried out an attack by the judiciary in 21 provinces based in Diyarbakır. More than 100 people, including our MYK member Mahfuz Güleryüz, our members, journalists, lawyers and artists, were detained."

CALL: JOIN ELECTIONS

The following statements were included in the statement: "The society and we both know the reason for this attack carried out by the AKP government and the judiciary under its control. The government, which is trying to prolong it, has started a new coup process against the elections on May 14 with the detention rush it carried out early in the morning. This operation is an operation to steal the ballot boxes and the will of the people. This operation is a clear intimidation and threat to the society and its political preferences. It is not a coincidence that lawyers, journalists who will inform the public, and politicians who fight with the AKP were targeted simultaneously. The government first put the gangs and mafia that it fed and raised on the field, making them threaten the society with the language of ISIS, and now it directly interferes in the elections with the help of the police and the judiciary. The judiciary and law enforcement, which openly threatens to 'behead' and threaten our voters with their children, have been involved in the AKP and MHP election campaign.

The AKP-MHP government, which becomes more aggressive as it loses and loses as it becomes more aggressive, will never be able to escape the fate that awaits it. These attacks are the last struggles of the AKP and they are futile efforts that will never yield results. Our people and all social segments whose will is threatened will give the greatest response to these attacks at the ballot boxes. AKP will not be able to reverse the course of history with the Diyarbakir-based operation, on the contrary, it will be erased from the political scene by the will of the Diyarbakir-based public, never to come back.

We call on everyone who wants this threat and blackmail system to end and who has the will to settle accounts with the unlawfulness that has been practiced for years, to take an open stance against these attacks. We call on thousands and tens of thousands of people to take responsibility for each one taken into custody, to participate in the election work, to protect the ballot boxes and to actively fight against the coup. We are here and we will definitely win."
