ISTANBUL - The women who came together at the Green Left Party rally in Yoğurtçu Park, condemned the isolation in Imrali and said: "No one can be free without the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan."

Thousands of women who came together at the rally held by the Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party) in Yoğurtçu Park in Kadıköy, Istanbul, with the slogan "We are here, we will replace it with women", gave the message that they will send power in the May 14 elections. Condemning the isolation against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been held in İmralı Type F High Security Prison and has not been heard from for 25 months, the women said: "Nobody can be free until Abdullah Öcalan is free."

ISOLATION OF IMRALI MUST BE ENDED

Stating that the Imrali isolation affects women the most, Bahar Demir (23) said: "The Imrali isolation system must end for the freedom of the people, Demir said: " I want to live freely, I want to speak my language freely. Just last week, a Kurdish friend of ours was killed for making music in Kurdish. But the media did not even give it properly. As long as the AKP is in power, no one will be free. We are here for a free life.”

'KURDS ARE TRIED TO END WITH THE ISOLATION'

Underlining the need to end the isolation and create an environment of peace, Nesihe Sever (55) said: “Abdullah Öcalan is our leader. The reason for the isolation is the defense of the Kurds. They are trying to oppress and end the Kurdish people with isolation and oppression. But our struggle will continue, enough of this slavery. Kurds need to fight harder to end this slavery and to get the people out of prison."

'UNITY OF THE KURDISH IS ENDED WITH THE ISOLATION'

Stating that she has not heard from Abdullah Öcalan for 25 months, Hakime Polat (60) wanted a meeting to be held as soon as possible in order to relieve her concerns. Polat said: “All prisoners in Turkey have the right to meet with their families and lawyers. Abdullah Öcalan also has this right. Denying this right is unlawful. He is our leader and he needs to communicate with his people. We don't even know if he's alive or not. Serok(Leader) is isolated not only for our rights, but for defending the rights of all oppressed people. Serok is important to us. He ensured our freedom by telling about the discrimination that Kurdish women suffered. If the Kurdish people unite, the isolation will end."

'WE WILL NOT FOLLOW OUR CASE'

Condemning the Imrali isolation, Halise Issız (68) emphasized that the isolation could end with the unity of the Kurds and continued as follows: “If we unite, the isolation of Serok Apo will be lifted. Political prisoners in prisons are released. If Serok is released today, we will all be free. Without Serok Apo, we would not have had this will. I am proud that Abdullah Öcalan is our leader. We sacrificed our daughters, sons and brothers in this cause. We will not abandon our cause. The state always wants the Kurdish people to remain enslaved and pay allegiance to it. But we will not bow down. In these elections, my only demand is for Serok Apo to be free.”

ISOLATION AFFECTS ALL WOMEN

Stating that power can be sent with the unity of women, Nadire Fırat (37) said: “If women unite, we will get rid of this misogynistic power. All women should take part in the polls in this election. Isolation affects all women as well as everyone else, so the isolation must be lifted."
