NEWS CENTER - Voting process has started in foreign and customs offices for the Presidential elections, which went to the second round due to the lack of absolute majority.

 

While the elections were left to the second round due to the fact that the candidates did not receive an absolute majority in the Presidential Election on May 14, the voting process started at the foreign representative offices and customs gates for the second round of voting to be held on Sunday, May 28. By the Supreme Election Council (YSK), ballot boxes were set up at 167 points in Turkey's 151 representatives in 73 countries for the May 28 election. Voters will choose between the candidate of the People's Alliance, Tayyip Erdoğan, who received the highest number of votes in the first round, and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the candidate of the Nation Alliance.

 

Voting in foreign representative offices will continue until May 24. Those who want to vote outside the representative offices will be able to vote at the customs until May 28, 17.00. Voting in foreign representative offices can be made between 09.00 and 21.00 local time on weekdays and weekends, within the date range announced for that representative office, and between 09.00 and 18.00 local time in cities affiliated to the consulate generals. Foreign voters will be able to vote at any of the designated representative offices or at any customs gate where ballot boxes are set up, and there will be no need for an appointment for this process.
