MÜFTÜOĞLU: IT IS AGAINST HUMAN DIGNITY

The female soldier commander, who imposed a handcuffed examination on Müftüoğlu, who asked for her handcuffs to be released at the entrance of the doctor's room, said: "I will not open the handcuffs just because you want them to, but I will open them if the doctor requests it." Reacting to the situation, Müftüoğlu stated that she did not accept the imposition of a handcuffed examination and said: “You are imposing a handcuffed examination on me. This situation is against human dignity, I cannot accept it."

While the internal medicine doctor said: "Just sit down, explain your problem, and then we will look at it" in order to normalize the examination in handcuffs, Müftüoğlu emphasized that this situation was to legitimize the examination in handcuffs. Müftüoğlu said: "I will not sit down unless the handcuffs are removed from my hands." Thereupon, the doctor asked the soldier: "If you have a key and I won't cause you any trouble, can you open it?"  The doctor, who listened to the complaint without even looking at Müftüoğlu's face, said: "Okay, okay, give blood for analysis" and took Müftüoğlu out of the room.

Then, Saadet Akın, who entered the room, was subjected to an examination in handcuffs. At Akın's insistence, her handcuffs were removed during the examination. The prisoners filed a criminal complaint against the soldiers and the doctor to the prosecutor's office.
