ANKARA - Green Left Party condemned the attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria and emphasized that the attacks are no different from the ISIS mentality.

Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party) Central Executive Board (MYK) made a statement about the Turkish attacks that started against Northern and Eastern Syria on October 5. The statement said: "Civilians will be targeted as a confession of war crimes."

'THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE FROM ISIS ATTACKS'

The statement included the following statements: "On October 5, dozens of air strikes were carried out against civilian infrastructure and settlements in the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, under the instructions of the AKP government. Many places, including power plants, brick factories, wheat warehouses, food production facilities, dams, bridges and roads, were bombed during the attacks. As a result of the attacks, many citizens of Northern and Eastern Syria, including civilians, lost their lives and were injured. These attacks, which directly target the living conditions of the Kurdish, Arab, Assyrian, Turkmen and Armenian people living in Northern and Eastern Syria, are no different from ISIS attacks.

CONFESSION OF WAR CRIME

Just a few days before the attack, AKP's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that they would openly target Kurdish civilian areas. Fidan's statement is in front of the eyes of the people of Türkiye and the people of the world; It has been a statement that the AKP government will systematically commit crimes in Northern and Eastern Syria. This statement, in which it is publicly stated that civilians will be targeted, amounts to a war crime in international law. This statement is a clear confession of war crimes.

We do not accept this regime and its mentality, which instead of solving the Kurdish issue in Turkey through peaceful means, launches bomb attacks on every point where Kurds live on earth. As the Green Left Party, we will insist on maintaining our position of peace and dialogue against this regime and understanding. Despite all the attacks, we will not give up our struggle for peace and democracy against war, and we will always be against the war that the government targets our people.

THE OPPOSITION THAT SUPPORTS AKP

While the AKP-MHP government is the main responsible for every attack against Northern and Eastern Syria, which is considered a war crime, the entire opposition also bears responsibility in this process. We would like to remind you that the AKP government will again submit the Iraq-Syria resolution to the Parliament for approval in the near future. We take this opportunity to call out to the opposition: Every day you approve the warrant for this war waged by the AKP against the Kurds, you will be complicit in this war crime. Even though it was the AKP that gave the order for yesterday's attacks, we bring to the attention of the entire Turkish public the reality of an opposition that supports it."
