WAN- 81-year-old Makbule Özer, who was arrested in Artemêt district of Wan on the allegation of "aiding the organization" and was released last year after her sentence was postponed for one year, will be held in prison again upon ATK's report; "She may be held in prison".

81-year-old Makbule Özer, who was arrested on May 9, 2022, after the court sentenced her to 2 years and 1 month in prison in Artemêt district of Wan, and was released on September 7, 2022, after her sentence was postponed for one year, according to the Forensic Medicine Institute ( ATK), Özer will be held in prison again upon the report "She may be held in prison".

ATK: SHE MAY BE HELD IN PRISON

In the letter sent to the court by ATK on November 11, it was stated that "According to Makbule Özer's current documents and examination findings, it is appropriate for her to remain in R (rehabilitation) type prison conditions, and that she should be sent for examination after 3 months, together with the observation notes and the medical board report showing the latest situation. It was unanimously decided that the issues asked will be re-evaluated afterwards."

In the other part of this decision made by AKT, notes were made that Özer came to the examination in a wheelchair and that he had asthma, shortness of breath, limited knee, foot and ankle movements and limited vision.

The family, who met with the prosecutor's office today, was asked to deliver Özer to R-type prison. The family will then deliver Özer to prison on Monday.

'THIS UNLAWFULNESS SHOULD BE ENDED NOW'

Özer's daughter Naime Özer said: “My mother was given a 61 percent disability report at the regional hospital. We sent these reports to the prosecutor's office. Then we took my mother to Forensic Medicine. ATK decided that it was appropriate for R to remain in prison. Even when we took him to the courthouse today, we took him with a chair and a wheel. My mother is in a situation where she cannot meet her own needs right now. Last year she could get up and get a glass of water, but now she can't even do that. We carry our mother on our back. There is no such unlawfulness. The whole world saw what kind of situation my mother was in. We want this lawlessness to end now.”
