ÎDİR - AKP-MHP, stuck in the face of the wind blowing in favor of the DEM Party in Îdir, where they nominated a joint candidate, found the solution by putting former and current ministers on the field.

There are only a few days left until the elections to be held on March 31. In Idir, which was governed by state-based parties for 86 years, the Democratic Society Party (DTP) reversed this "fate" by winning the municipality in the 2009 local elections. In the 2014 local elections, the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), the successor of DTP, took over the administration. However, with the State of Emergency (OHAL) declared on July 15, 2016 and the published Decree Laws (KHK), trustees were appointed to more than a hundred municipalities won by BDP, and dozens of co-chairs were arrested.

Despite this, the People's Democratic Party (HDP), continuing the BDP tradition, won the municipality by outperforming the AKP-MHP, which put forward a joint candidate in the city in the 2019 elections. However, trustees were appointed to all municipalities won by HDP and the co-chairs were arrested.

In the city, where co-chair Yaşar Akkuş is still prisoned and governed by trustees, the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) took over the tradition of HDP and nominated Nejla Kum and Mehmet Nuri Güneş as candidates in the primary election.

Due to the people's increasing favor towards the DEM Party, the city's trustee and governor, Ercan Turan, began to put pressure on the Supreme Electoral Board (YSK). As a result of this pressure, the board did not accept the candidacy of DEM Party's candidate Güneş. After two days of marches and protests on the streets, a higher committee had to accept Güneş's objection and Güneş's candidacy became final. After these situations, the wind in favor of the DEM Party gained even more momentum.

Despite 5 thousand military and police voters moving to the city, it seems that the DEM Party is ahead.

AKP-MHP joint candidate Ulku Ocal, AKP Deputy Cantürk Alagöz, whose documents prove that he received 12 million from the state for one million vaccines coming from China, and Ercan Turan, who is also a trustee, and his various attempts to win the municipality are also on the city's agenda. Allegedly, this trio distributes money and supplies to the financially poor people in the city.

According to the information obtained; In addition to Azerbaijanis, Kurds who voted for AKP will not vote for AKP in this election. According to the residents of the city, the biggest factor in this is AKP Deputy Cantürk Alagöz, who literally took the city hostage. It is claimed that Alagöz, who is also a businessman and the owner of Iğdırspor, is known for the tenders he received from the trustee and has almost collapsed many real estate properties belonging to the municipality.

MINISTERS IN ÎDİR

Allegedly, when it became clear that the joint candidate of AKP-MHP would lose, ministers were summoned to the city by Alagöz. Following these calls, former Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan came to Idir on March 13. The former minister participated in the election activities together with Ocal and Alagöz. A day later, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu also came to the city and participated in AKP-MHP's visit to tradesmen and election activities. State's official channel, TRTHaber, broadcast a live special program in front of the city's old municipality building on the same day. In this program, the Minister listed promises for Idir. At the same time, many main media channels such as AHaber lined up to make propaganda for Ocal, the common candidate of AKP-MHP.

THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR ALSO RUNNED!

Immediately afterwards, Minister of Labor and Security Vedat Işıkhan came to the city and participated in the election activities of the joint candidate of AKP-MHP. Işıkhan also met with business people at the Organized Industrial Zone Directorate program organized by AKP-MHP. Yesterday evening, Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya came to the city. The AKP-MHP candidate welcomed the minister at the airport. The minister attended the program organized by the governorship under the name of "meeting with civil society", together with AKP-MHP candidate Ocal. After this program, Yerlikaya went to the AKP election office.
