AMED - KCDK-E Council Board member Musa Farisoğulları pointed out that international powers are complicit in the İmralı isolation and said: "The solution to the problems experienced in the Middle East is hidden in the paradigm created by Öcalan."

No news has been received from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is being held under severe isolation conditions in İmralı Type F High Security Prison, for 41 months. In response, a global campaign called "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a political solution to the Kurdish issue" was launched on October 10, 2023. Led by the European Democratic Kurdish Society Congress (KCDK-E), Kurds and their supporters held simultaneous actions in 74 centers in reference to Abdullah Öcalan's 74th birthday. On September 21, isolation policies will be protested at the Kurdish Culture Festival in Frankfurt, Germany. In addition, similar demands will be voiced in mass actions in many centers of the world on October 10.

KCDK-E Council Board member Musa Farisoğulları evaluated the ongoing isolation and campaign.

‘WE ARE TAKING THE RESISTANCE IN A HOLISTIC MANNER’

Stating that isolation is the product of an international policy, Farisoğulları said: “Kurds and their supporters are resisting this situation with great determination in Europe and many parts of the world. The isolation policy against Mr. Öcalan did not develop only under Turkey’s control. It was only given the duty of guarding Turkish colonialism. A holistic conspiracy was carried out by 52 states and local collaborators. We are also acting by taking the resistance against isolation in a holistic manner.”

Pointing out that the resistance initiated by the Kurds and their supporters against the ongoing isolation in İmralı continues,  “Glorious outbursts were made in many centers of the world. In this context, the people in many centers of the world showed their reaction with mass actions. Finally, the people showed serious participation in the sit-in protests held on August 5-6-7 upon the call of KCDK-E” Farisoğulları said.

‘NO POWER WILL BE ABLE TO STOP THIS IDEA’

Drawing attention to the actions and events to be held in Europe in the upcoming period, Farisoğulları said the following: “We will carry out mass actions all over the world against isolation. Because the future and freedom of the Kurdish people are directly linked to Mr. Öcalan. As long as the isolation continues, wars will continue in the Middle East and Kurdistan. International powers also remain silent about the isolation and the annihilation of the Kurds. The solution to the problems experienced in the Middle East lies in the paradigm created by Mr. Öcalan. Capitalist modernity states are participating in the isolation policy in order to stop this paradigm. At this point, we see that no power has the power to stop this idea. Because we can observe that interest in Mr. Öcalan’s idea is increasing all over the world.”
