Thousands evacuates due to fires Aegean

IZMIR - Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes due to ongoing forest fires in Izmir, Manisa and Aydın. 

The fire that broke out on August 15 in Yamanlar district of Izmir's Karşıyaka district continues. As the fire spread to a wide area, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the areas affected and evacuated by the fire in Izmir. According to Yerlikaya's statement, a total of 800 citizens were evacuated, 170 in Sancaklı neighborhood, 500 in Doğançay neighborhood, 50 in Zübeyde neighborhood and 80 in Onur neighborhood. In the fire in Bayındır district, 100 citizens were evacuated from their homes. 
 
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı made a statement in the fire zone and announced that the fire in Karşıyaka was caused by a picnic fire. It was announced that the fire in Beydağ in Ödemiş district was caused by a cigarette butt thrown by 2 children. 
 
45 PEOPLE EVACUATED IN AYDIN
 
Efforts to extinguish the forest fire in Bozdoğan district of Aydın continue. The fire, which broke out in the forest area in Alhisar Neighborhood yesterday, spread to a wide area with the effect of the wind. The fire, which was effective in the forested areas in Alhisar, Altintas, Örentat, Hışımlar, Güre neighborhoods, resumed aerial intervention with the first light of the morning.
 
Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat, who inspected the region, said: “As of now, we have evacuated 45 people in our Örmepınar neighborhood due to the approach of the fire. The evacuation of the rest of our citizens continues.” 
 
ONE THOUSAND 440 PEOPLE EVACUATED IN MANISA
 
The forest fire, which broke out in Gördes district of Manisa on August 14 and has been going on for 3 days, has reached Salihli's rural Kale, Kemer, Kurttutan and Hacıhıdır neighborhoods. The 4 neighborhoods affected by the fire were evacuated as a precautionary measure. On the other hand, it was reported that the Yunuslar and Çamköy neighborhoods of Gölmarmara, which are close to the fire zone, will also be evacuated as a precaution. Making a statement on the subject, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya said: “A total of one thousand 440 citizens, including 60 citizens from Karayakup Village, 260 citizens from Yeniköy Neighborhood, 200 citizens from Kale Neighborhood, 400 citizens from Kemer Neighborhood, 270 citizens from Kurttuhan Neighborhood and 250 citizens from Hacıhıdır Village, were evacuated.”
