ANKARA - Emine Şenyaşar, who has taken the Justice Watch to the Parliament, addressed AKP Chair and President Erdoğan and said: “If necessary, I will sleep in the Parliament.”

Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons and had one son arrested in an attack by the bodyguards and relatives of former AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Pirsûs district of Riha (Urfa) on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who is a member of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MP for Riha, took their struggle for justice, which they have been suspending for a while, to the Parliament. Before the protest, the Şenyaşar family organized a press conference at the Parliament.

Speaking at the press conference, Emine Şenyaşar reminded that she has been struggling for justice for 6 years. Addressing AKP Chair and President Tayyip Erdoğan, Şenyaşar said: “If necessary, I will sleep in the Parliament. Why are you doing this persecution? Don't you have children? You destroyed my home. You put my child in prison. What did you want from him?”
Şenyaşar also stated that she had to undergo surgery due to health problems, “I want to see my child before the surgery. I don't know how the surgery will go, maybe I will die. I have been sitting in front of the justice palaces for 6 years” she said.

CALL FROM PARLIAMENT

Drawing attention to the injustices in Turkey, Ferit Şenyaşar said that an organized resistance must develop against what is happening. Şenyaşar said: “No power can stop an organized society. I make the call from the rostrum of the Parliament; let's join arms for justice. My mother announced her demand for justice to the world. For years, the only thing she never stopped talking about was justice. Which of you can accept such injustice against your mother?”

PROTEST IN FRONT OF THE PARLIAMENT PRESIDENCY

After the statement, the Şenyaşar family started their protest in front of the Parliament Presidency with a banner saying, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family, justice for everyone”. Mother Şenyaşar drew attention to the massacre and expressed her demands.

REQUEST FOR A MEETING WITH ERDOĞAN

Ferit Şenyaşar stated the following:  “President Erdoğan is also a party to this case. As a citizen of this country, we are addressing President Erdoğan from the pulpit of the people; this mother whose home was destroyed wants to tell you about the injustice she has been experiencing for 6 years. The witness of the massacre is Abdullah Erin, the former Governor of Urfa. The mother's story may not sound convincing to you. Abdullah Erin must be present at the meeting. We will hold a vigil for justice, including at night, in front of the gate of the Parliamentary Presidency within legal limits, until our request for this meeting is accepted and justice is achieved that will ease the conscience of the society.”
