Mayor Ahmet Özer, the mayor of Esenyurt in Istanbul, whose city was won by consensus, was replaced by a trustee after his arrest on allegations of “illegal organization membership”. Halk TV writer İsmail Saymaz noted that an investigation was opened against Özer within the framework of “Law No. 6415 on the Prevention of Terrorism Financing”. Within the scope of this investigation, a financial investigation was carried out, and it was noted that both the trustee, Ministry of Internal Affairs inspectors and Prosecutor Can Tuncay are continuing their financial investigations.
Within the scope of the investigation, it was also noted that the tenders awarded by Özer after his election were also reviewed.
