Co-Chair of the Syrian Democratic Assembly (MSD) Leyla Qereman and the accompanying MSD delegation met with Shêx Hikmet al-Hijrî, one of the prominent figures of the Druze people, during their visit to Suweida, Syria.

 

During the meeting with the Druze opinion leader, the delegation, including MSD Deputy Co-chair Elî Rehmûn, MSD Women's Bureau member Janda Remo, Kurdish Democratic Agreement Party Secretary General Fewzî Şengalî, evaluated the process that emerged after the overthrow of the Baath regime, and discussed the difficulties faced by the Syrian people and the crisis in the country.

 

During the meeting, where a common view emerged on the protection of civil peace and prevention of violence, the parties emphasised the importance of Syria's territorial integrity.

 

DEMOCRATIC AUTONOMY EXPERIENCE

 

The parties also noted that the experience of the Democratic Autonomous Administration is a decentralised model, which will be the basis for building the future of Syria and will provide a fair and comprehensive representation for all regions and components.

 

On the other hand, it was emphasised that contacts between Syrian components should be strengthened in order to realise a comprehensive national congress.
