ISTANBUL - Work is underway in European countries for the rally to be held in Strasbourg on 15 February. "This 15 February will be our 15 February of liberation and freedom," says Dilan Çetinkaya, co-chair of KCDK-S.

While the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues, the campaign "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" continues with various actions and events around the world. As part of the campaign, a "Long March" was launched on 21 January in Lorient, France. The march will end with a big rally in Strasbourg on 15 February, the 26th anniversary of the international conspiracy against Abdullah Öcalan. Dilan Çetinkaya, Co-Chair of the Kurdish Democratic Council of Switzerland (KCDK-S), spoke about the big rally they are organising.

Dilan Çetinkaya said that Abdullah Öcalan's ideas have become universal and women from all over the world are fighting for Öcalan's physical freedom. Dilan Çetinkaya emphasised that the isolation against Abdullah Öcalan must be lifted and his physical freedom must be ensured and said, "Many intellectuals and internationalists are participating in the work we are carrying out in Europe for the liberation of Leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan). This shows that the ideas of our Leader have created a butterfly effect all over the world. We can say that Leader has a universalised line of freedom that transcends Kurds."

‘WE WILL SHOUT FOR FREEDOM’

Dilan Çetinkaya pointed out that they have declared a mobilisation within the scope of the campaign and said, "In the spirit of this mobilisation, we will have tent and information actions from 10 February to 15 February. Booklets and brochures translated into English, German, French and Italian describing the paradigm of Leader will be distributed during the tent actions. At the same time, we organise reading days, prepare bureaucratic and diplomatic files and present them to the relevant places. In addition to these, we are carrying out mass and public work. Our work for the 15 February rally has started. Our goal is to bring millions of people to the 15 February rally and shout for the freedom of our Leader."

Dilan Çetinkaya stated that as women, they have shown ‘insufficient comradeship’ towards Abdullah Öcalan. "The year 2025 will be a self-criticism of this insufficient comradeship," said Dilan Çetinkaya and added, "Kurdish women will be the pioneers of this self-criticism. European states should stop making statements such as ‘We understand the Kurds’ struggle, it is their right' and take steps. Today, when we demand the freedom of the Leader, we are not only demanding the freedom of the Kurdish people, but also the freedom of the entire Middle East and all peoples. Leader Apo has created hope with the alternative of democratic modernity that he has put forward against the capitalist system, which is blocked all over the world and leaves no space for the peoples. Therefore, not only Kurds or women need the Leader, but the whole Middle East needs the Leader. Kurds have to regain their rights in this century. This century will be the century of freedom for Kurdish women."

Dilan Çetinkaya stated that the Middle East can come out of darkness into light with Abdullah Öcalan's ideas and invited all segments to the rally. Dilan Çetinkaya continued, "As women, we have no more tolerance, we need to ensure his freedom immediately. This 15 February will be our 15 February of liberation and freedom. The conspirators should know this well; you could not darken our sun, our sun, which you have been trying to darken for 26 years, is your light today."
