AMED - Amed citizens are keen on the message to be delivered by PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and say that it should be on video, demanded that Abdullah Öcalan's physical freedom be ensured.

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party İmralı Delegation will announce Abdullah Öcalan's call to the public after its meeting with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan today. The call will be announced on giant led screens to be installed in Amed (Diyarbakır) and Wan (Van). While the call was received with excitement in the city, Amed residents demanded Abdullah Öcalan's physical freedom.

Meral Kaçmaz Süzer stated that on the one hand, talks and solution efforts are contradictory, on the other hand trustee appointments, attacks and arrests are contradictory and said, "If they want peace, they should give Kurds their rights and language. For the solution of the Kurdish issue, the message from Abdullah Öcalan should be broadcast all over the world. Even the message should be broadcast live. Only then will the people believe in the process. As long as it is not on video, how can we know what Abdullah Öcalan is saying?"

Mecit Turgay stated that Abdullah Öcalan is the leader of a nation and only he can convince the people of peace and said, "The message that Mr Öcalan will give to his people should firstly be on video and then we want him to be freed and come to Amed. If the state is serious and sincere, it will do these things. Those who want to live together with Kurds must liberate the Kurdish leader."

Emphasising that Abdullah Öcalan has been trying to create a basis for peace with Turkey for years, Salih Kızıl said, "The message from Leader Apo must be video recorded. Even his message must be given with his freedom. It cannot be accepted on paper. He must be given his ideas and thoughts in a free way by entering his people with his freedom."

Mustafa Metin said that an environment of peace must be created and for this, Abdullah Öcalan and the political prisoners must be liberated. Mustafa Metin emphasised that the state's approach that "legislation" is an obstacle to a video message from Abdullah Öcalan has led to a questioning of sincerity. Metin said, "If there is to be a statement, it must be on video. Nothing should be done secretly. Everyone should see him when he speaks."

Stating that the reason why the government does not want to video the message of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is the fear of losing votes, Ilami Mutlu said, "We want it to be videoed."

Zülfü Kılıç pointed out that the process should be carried out transparently for the parties and said, "The current process is not being carried out transparently. If Turkey wants peace, it should do it with the Kurds. What harm can the message from the leadership do to the government? If they are sincere in the solution, they should give the incoming message on video".

Gülşen Börtlüçene stated that the Kurdish issue should be solved now and that the message from Abdullah Öcalan should be video recorded and said, "Everything should be open to the public. It should not be conducted in secret. It should be on vide."

Stating that the Kurdihs-Turkish issue should be eliminated, Ayşe Güleç said, "There should be no discrimination and everyone should live comfortably. I am neither Kurdish nor Turkish, but I still advocate peace."

Mehdi Süzer said that there has been oppression in Kurdistan for years and added, "Abdullah Öcalan's message for the brotherhood of the peoples should be given in a lively way."
