DİYARBAKIR- Attorney Bünyamin Şeker who spoke to the prisoners in Elazığ Prison said that the prisoners who got beaten and tortured are threatened with pedded cells.

 

A member of the Solidarity with prisons initiative Bünyamin Şeker, mentioned male and female prisoners in Elazığ Prison are battered and tortured and put in padded cells. Şeker added that Elazığ Prison is one of the worst prisons in terms of violation of rights.

 

Şeker, who stated that 150 prisoners who refused to stand up during the count have been battered after the state of emergency , added that both prisoners and Diyarbakır Bar Assosiation have filed a criminal complaint, but the investigation conducted by the prosecution office remained inconclusive.

 

Şeker indicated that accesing the right to health is being precluded and added, “ Two prisoners,Leşker Acer , a cardiac patient and Yaşar Kırmız who is extremely sick are in solitary confinement. Again, Gürbüz topçu who is unilaterally paralytic and blind in one eye needs treatment. He too is being kept in solitary confinement. Prisoners who cant meet basic needs are being kept in solitary confinement. A cardiac patient can not stay alone and need companion and so says the reports.
