İZMİR- The police who intervene to the action 7 workers have started in izmir -Çiğli organized industrial site have taken 65 workers and unionist into custody.

 

7 workers who was working in TARİŞ factory in İzmir- Çiğli organized industrial site and is a member of DİSK/Gıda-İş was layed off. Hearing the rumours that the lay-off's will continue, workers rejected to home after work and started a sit in in front of the factory.

 

The riot police intervene the workers who demanded to be reinstated and the union to be recognised. 65 workers and unionists were taken under custody in the police intervention.

 

33 of the workers and unionist under custody, was released about 04.00 a.m after bearing testimony.

The rest of the workers and unionists still remain under custody in Konak District Police Department Security Branch.

 

Unions and workers are protesting the police intervention at 11.00 a.m today.
