DİYARBAKIR- Attorney Cemile Turhallı Balsak who said tha fact that Leyla Güven was not released shows the attitude towards Kurdish politics, said: "This situation exceeds law. The verdict of continuation of detention is solely because they think Leyla Güven should stay imprisoned."

 

Güven's attorney Cemile Turhallı Balsak evaluated the hunger strike Leyla Güven has begun. Balsak: "We are witnessing purposive judgments in the trials of municipality  co-chairs and HDP parliamentarians.Such ridiculous results arise when actual situations are put before the law.When the situation as it is ,is different from what is intended , they are trying to make decisions purposive judgements. The judicial process can not be explained by law."

Balsak commented about the hunger strike: "There have been criticisms and protests about the segregation of Abdullah Öcalan for more than 3 years.Leyla Güven is a person who expressed her reactions in everyway when she was outside. Now she is doing the same thing in prison.And to make it visible for the political prisoners as a legitimate reaction ,she decided on a hunger strike. Leyla Güven is a prisoner because of what she thinks. She is expressing herself beyond her freedom."
