URFA- Egitim-Sen Union's Co-chair Leyla Mumin who stated that only 4 of the discharged teachers were reinstated out of 59 in the State of Emergency Commission, said: "The commission must be extinguished."

 

From the 59 applications made to the State of Emergency Commision from Eğitim-Sen Urfa branch, which is a subbranch of Confederation of Public Laborer's Unions ,only 4 people discharged with a law decree during the state of emergency period were reinstated. Eğitim-sen Urfa Branch Co-chair Leyla Mumin said the commision must be extinguished and the judicial remedy must be made possible for those public workers.

 

Mumin who emphasized that the commisions procedures and principles are ambiguous  and not transparently inspected, said: "The commission investigates 42 thousand applications and we have no idea about the investigation process.Applicants have no idea what are they accused of. There is no right to defence and the process is way too slow. The fact that this commision exists, is a violation of the constitution and the international conventions."
