JinNews Editor in Chief on trial: Our news are not a crime!

DİYARBAKIR- JinNews Editor in Chief Safiye Alaşağ who is being charged with 'praising an illegal organization' regarding the news JinNews have made, said those news doesn't constitude a crime.
 
A law suit was filed agains JinNews Editor in Chief Safiye Alağaş upon a denunciation made by the Dikarbakır Chief Prosecutor's Office with the charge of  'praising an illegal organization' for the news published by JinNews which has been shut down frequently by   Information and Communication Technologies Authority.
 
Journalist Alağaş stated that the articles listed in the file was made within the scope of journalistic activity and that she did not accept the allegations against her. Alağaş stating that the news articles that have been made to share the victimization of children and women with the public can not be considered in the scope of the crime 'praising and illegal organization'. Alağaş said: " All of our reports are about women and children. Our activity as journalists is being ignored."
 
Alağaş stated that the news did not constitute a crime and demanded her acquittal.The trial was postponed to fabruary.
