İZMİR – Temur Taşdemir, who mentioned  Leyla Güven and the political prisoners  are determinedly maintaining the hunger strike,said:  “History of resistance is being  rewritten by Leyla Güven” .

 

The hunger strike initiated by the Democratic Society Congress Co-chair (DTK) and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven for the termination of isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, is in its 82th day.  Member Board of Directors of the Association of 78 İzmir Temur Taşdemir, who had done a hunger strike in past, emphasized the  importance of hunger strikes. 

 

‘LEYLA GÜVEN IS WRITING THE  HISTORY OF THE RESISTANCE’ 

 

Taşdemir, who emphasized the determination of Leyla Güven, said that prison resistances are usually alike. Taşdemir, who stated that the  history of prison resistances are being rewritten since Mazlum Doğan and the Fours said that Leyla Güven have assumed being the symbol of resistance in our day.

 

'LOSSES WILL BE EXPERIENCED IF NO STEPS ARE TAKEN'

 

Taşdemir, who emphasized the necessity of government taking  steps regarding the demands of the  prisoners, said: ”Isolation, which started in İmralı, is actually being practiced on the whole society  in Turkey. Turkey is isolated in prisons or out in the daily life. Turkey can not handle this process under these circumstances."
