NEWS DESK- Leyla Güven who said "What keeps me alive is the resistance in the prisons lead by women" criticized those who stay silent by saying: "What kills me is those who stay silent. This hunger strike is examinatorial for the society. Those who can not pass will not be able to say they are defenders of rights tomorrow."

Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven who has been on a hunger strike for 100 days spoke to Beritan Elyakurt from JinNews.

Güven said: "I have been resisting for 100 days today. Political prisoners have been resisting in prisons for 60 days. This isolation is not something new it has been going on for 20 years. This isolation consumed the whole country but firstly the Kurdish. No will until today was locked away in an island. Our hunger strike made it more visible. I am resisting against this unlawfulness and my body will not fall until my mind does. I have learned throughout this hunger strike that human is a miracle run by the power of the mind. I know that my body is melting away but I have not lose anything from my will power. I am peacefull that I am doing something for this unlawfullness. My body can not fall unless I let it fall. What kills me is those who stay silent. This hunger strike is examinatorial for the society. Those who can not pass will not be able to say they are defenders of rights tomorrow. Noone can withholda woman from what she wants if that woman believes in what she does. Because women believe in something and always comes through with it. I sure want to see the time peace comes to this country. But if a price is needed to be payed, I will pay it with my eyes closed. What keeps me alive is the resistance in the prisons lead by women. We will either live freely..or we don't live at all..."
