ELAZIĞ- Journalist Mehmet Güleş who is being kept at Elazığ No 1 High Security Prison drew attention to the fact that salt is not given to the prisoners on hunger strike. Güleş, emphasized that Kurdish is still banned and even the books with 2 languages are not being given.
Mehmet Güleş, a reporter of Dicle News Agency (DİHA) which was closed down with a decree of law (KHK) reported the violations of rights in Elazığ No 1 High Security Prison.
Güleş who stated that the books written in Kurdish are not being given, sare said to be in the process of translation as a stalling of the prison administration. We only use 45-minute weekly sports as social activity. We are not able to benefit from activities such as painting and outfdoor activities. The people staying in high security cells supposed to change cells every 4 months but they do not do it as well.
Güneş who gave information about the hunger strikers being kept at the same prison with him, said: "The necessary amount of salt, sugar and lemon are not being given even though a petition was submitted. The health controlls of our friends who started the hunger strike with the first group is not being done. Blood pressure and weights are measured only once per day. Our friends have at least lost 10 kilos each."
