Sentences rained down on lawyers: 11 years 3 months of prison sentence for Kozağaçlı

İSTANBUL-The verdict on the case of the ÇHD and HHB member lawyers is passed. 17 attorneys were sentenced from 3 years 1 month to 18 years 9 months.
 
The hearing of the 20 attorneys from Progressive Lawyers Association (ÇHD) and Poeple's Law Office (HHB) where they are being charged with 'managing an illegal organization' and 'Membership of an illegal organization' was held in İstanbul 37th Criminal Court across Silivri Prison Campus.
 
European Union of Democratic Lawyers (AED), Association of European Lawyers for Human Rights and Democracy in the World (ELDH) and attorneys from Italy, Belgium, Germany, France and Greece and Amnesty International Campaigns Coordinator Milena Buy monitored the hearing where more than 100 gendermerie stood ready while the defendants and their attorneys did not attend.
 
17 attorneys were sentenced from 3 years 1 month to 18 years 9 months in the hearing where ÇHD President Selçuk Kozağaçlı was sentenced to 11 years and 3 months.
 
On the other hand, it was learned that the lawyers filed the request for judicial review by the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court.
