DİYARBAKIR- Mesopotamia Female Journalists Platform who commemorated Nujiyan Erhan at the second anniversary of her death, said: "Nujiyan is the cornerstone of Kurdish Female Press".

 

Mesopotamia Female Journalists Platform (MKGP) have made a written statement on the second anniversary of Nujiyan Erkan's death. 

 

The statement is as follows: "It has been two years since Nujiyan Erhan was murdered by the forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) while she was following up on some news in the town of Xênasor, Shengal. On March 3, 2017, she was shot in the head and was seriously wounded. She was taken to the hospital in Hasekê where she died on 22 March 2017.Just like Gurbetelli Ersöz, Ayfer Serçe, Deniz Fırat and more, Nujiyan became one of the cornerstones of Kurdish female press. Nujiyan left behind many women's press workers she trained, her beloved Shengal, many women's stories waiting to be completed, and her search for the facts.

 

We as the women workers of free press, will carry the legacy that Nujiyan left to us to tomorrow, completing every unfinished story that will convey the courage, determination and will of the struggle from woman to woman. "
