VAN- 71 year old Besra Salhan who is on hunger strike, said: "We are late. 7 souls are gone. What are we waiting for?" and added that she is ready to take her place in the hunger strike action and the resistance despite her old age.
One of the 9 people who started a hunger strike supporting the thousands of indefinite non-rotating hunger strikers is 71 year old Besra Salhan. Mother Besra who has a blood pressure problem, diabetes and asthma, is on hunger strike for 3 days despite all insistence. Mother Besra who sits beneath the picture of Leyla Güven in the hall arranged for the hunger strikers,welcomes the guests despite her weary body grumbling: "7 souls are gone, we are late, what are we waiting for?"
Mother Besra who did not tell her children that he will start a hunger strike, conveys the message of her son Sinan where he said: "We will continue our hunger strike until the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is removed" and adds: "We should not stop. We must stand by their side in their rightful action."
