DİYARBAKIR - While the HDP provincial building was raided by the police in Bingöl, 9 members of the Youth Assembly were detained during the home raids.
Police raided the Provincial building of People's Democratic Party in Bingöl early this morning. HDP Provincial accountant Yaşar Yurtsever was called to the party building by the police. The police who conducted a search in the building, confiscated many documents of the party and then left.
Police also raided many residances in the city. 9 Youth Assembly member were taken under custody during the raids. While the raids continue in the city, there is information that detentions might also continue.
While the reason for the operation remains unknown, it was learned that the detainees were taken to the Bingöl Security Directorate.
HDP Provincial Co-chair Veysel Kaya who commented on the raids, said "Democracy and plurivocality disturbed them. They are taking revenge because of the results of the March 31 elections."
