NEWS DESK- Police blockaded the press release Humans' Rights Association (İHD) members who would like to commemorate the Armanian Genocide's 104th anniversary in Sultanahmet Square.
The commemoration İHD members including İHD Co-chair Eren Keskin would like to perform due to the 104th anniversary of Armanian Genocide in Sultanahmet Square, was blockaded by the police. Many people including People's Democratic Party (HDP) Deputy Garo Paylan gathered in the trolley stop in Sultanahmet.
The police stopped the group who would like to march to the square and make a press statement. Police stated that they will not allow the press statement because it is forbidden.
İHD Co-chair Eren Keskin said: "You told the same thing last year. We have a court order that states this area is not forbidden to make a press statement." The police did not allow the press statement despite the discussion. The group dispersed to meet in İHD İstanbul Branch at 13.00 to make the press statement.
