A released detainee in Halfeti: They electrocuted and sexually assaulted me

URFA - 9 out of 10 people who were subjected to torture in custody in Halfeti were released by judicial control and 1 person was arrested. Ruken Deniz, who was released, said in her defense in the court, "They electrocuted me in the police station, they banged my head on the ground." Deniz was also exposed to sexual assault.

10 people who were subjected to torture in Counter Terrorism Unit (TEM) Branch were taken to court today. they were detained after the clashes between the soldiers and those who are claimed to be HPG members in Dergili district of Urfa and Halfeti district. 
 
9 PERSON RELEASED 1 ARRESTED
 
Ahmet Yıldırım, Emine Yildirim, Güle Çiftçi, Hanifi Alakuş, Kamile Kaçar, Kemal Şahin, Rabi Kaplan, Ruken Deniz, Suphi Gül and Abdullah Çiftçi were brought to the court after their depositions in TEM
 
Later on, 9 people were referred to the court with judicial control and 1 person was sent to the court with a request for arrest. 9 out of 10 people were released under judicial control. Abdullah Çiftçi, the Halfeti Municipal Co-Presidency candidate from the People's Democratic Party (HDP) in the March 31st local elections, was arrested and sent to prison, citing social media shares.
 
TORTURE IN THE RECORDS 
 
Some of the citizens told that they were deposed under torture. Ruken Deniz who stated that she was tortured under police custody said: "They electrocuted me in the police station, they banged my head on the ground. I can't feel my hands and feet. My ribs hurt. I am being tortured for several days. I was sexually assaulted."
 
When the judge asked her why she did not tell these things in her deposition taken by the police, she said I was going back to custodial prison and that she was scared.
 
The attorneys stated that their clients were not checked by the doctors in detail and that the doctors didn't even give them a medical report, demanded that they should be referred to the forensic medicine institution. Their demand was rejected.
 
 
The other citizens' detention period was extanded by 4 days further. It was claimed that those under custody are still being tortured and Halil Zincirkıran and Mehmet Hayri Çiftçi are being electrocuted.
