BATMAN / DİYARBAKIR - The ecological organizations in Batman and Diyarbakır called for the "Great Leap" in the Tigris event that will be held on 14 July.

The Hasankeyf Initiative held a press release on the "Great Leap to the Tigris" event on July 14th. In the statement made at Bahar Cultural Center, it was declared that the institutions that struggle for Hasankeyf gather under the name of Hasankeyf Initiative.

Atalay pointed out that 80 thousand people will remain homeless if the dam covers are closed, and the migration will cause poverty. Atalay emphasized that there were physical interventions under the name of transportation of historical monuments and consolidation of rocks to the historical city for the last few years. Atalay said: “In Hasankeyf, the cultural heritage that we can still recover is much more" and called the national and international public to support.

Atalay said that sensitive people for the protection of rivers in Europe and in many parts of the world are doing activities under the name of "Great Leap", and calls for participation in the "Great Leap" to Tigris on July 14.

Atalay said "We are declaring one more time that we will struggle for the defence for the historical city, saying it's not late for Hasankeyf."
