ŞIRNAK - Silopi Thermal Power Plant, owned by Ciner Group, is on the agenda with the deaths it causes, besides the damage it does to the nature. According to the data of TUİK, while 511 people died in 3 years in the city, HDP Şırnak MP Hüseyin Kaçmaz said there are 11 thousand disabled citizens in Silopi alone and that this caused by the thermal power plant.

 

 

 

Silopi Thermal Power Plant located in Şırnak, Silopi have become a threat to the nature and to the citizens living in the area. The power plant known to be owned by Ciner Group which is known to be close to the government is not only damaging the nature but also causing serious health problems for the people living in the area.  There has been an increase in cancer and heart diseases in the city in recent years. While the number of deaths caused by these diseases increases from year to year, the rate of miscarriages are also rising.

 

 

Expressing that there is a serious increase in many diseases caused by the plant, Kaçmaz stated that the region is in the 3rd place in the country in infant deaths. The gases released from the plant are not only affecting humans, but also animals, trees and all other living things are affected negatively.

 

Kackmaz who said that the reactions to the presence of the power plant in the city grows day by day; called on to everyone to fight against these plants spreading death and disease.
