Berceto to grant honorary citizenship to Abdullah Ocalan

NEWS DESK - Tomorrow with a special ceremony the city of Berceto (in the province of Parma, Italy) will grant the honorary citizenship to PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan.

"Berceto - writes the mayor, Luigi Lucchi, - wishes in this way to give a small contribution to the freedom of oppressed and not recognised peoples".
 
At the ceremony a delegation of the Kurdish people will be present, including Ocalan's niece and Rete Kurdistan Parma which has worked to raise awareness on the Kurdish people.
 
Berceto is the last of a dozen cities in Italy to grant the honorary citizienship to Ocalan.
