VAN - Erzurum Karayazı Mayor, HDP's Melike Göksu was taken into custody early this morning. Göksu's file in the Supreme Court with a 7 years 6 months prison sentence was upheld by the court.
7 people including Co-mayor Melike Göksu and 2 municipal councilors were taken under custody during the house raids in Erzurum, Karayazı.
A search warrant was issued for Göksu whose sentence was upheld the previous week. She was taken under custody while she was on her way to visit a sick relative. Serdar Göksu, Serkan Göksu, Erol Göksu, Emel Turan, Erdal Bayram and Ferit Kaya was taken under custody with her. Göksu was detained in a facility on the outskirts of the city and was taken to the Erzurum Court house with the other 6 people. Göksu's proceedings in the courthouse continues.
