AĞRI - The mother of Yonca Akici, who ended her life against isolation told about what the government put her through while the government is all about mothers these days. Mother Gülperi Akici said: "When her dead body came, they didn't even let me touch her. They stole her from me and buried her themselves."

Mother of Yonca Akici who ended her life in protest of the isolation against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan on March 29 in İzmir Şakran Women's Closed Prison told about her daughter and her struggle.

Gülperi Akici who did not hear from Yonca for 3 years, said: "It is so hard not to hear one's child voice. I couldn't get enough of her smell, of her laughter. She always consoled us when we went visiting her saying 'Rewşa we başbe, ez jî başim' (If you are doing well, I am ok). So even in such a bad situation she always thought of us first. She didn't even tell us she was on hunger strike."

Mother Akici who told about her last visit to her daughter, said: "She told me not to cry in front of them if anything to happen to her one day. But when her body came to the neighborhood she grew up in, I couldn't held back my tears and I cried. They didn't even let me touch her, smell her..My biggest regret is that I could not keep my promise to her and cry in front of them. I hope she forgave me.."
