İSTANBUL - Baran Tursun Foundation President Mehmet Tursun who stated that 395 citizens were killed by the police in 13 years with the claim that they did not obey the 'stop' warning of the police, said they will search justice in front of the government's party building, asking why their children were murdered.

From 2007 to 2019, 395 people were killed by the police because they allegedly did not obey the 'stop' warning of the police. While 91 of the 395 were children, 86 of them were women. Mehmet Tursun who founded Baran Tursun Foundation in 2010 after his son was killed by the police in 2007, said those deaths will continue unless the Law of Police Powers (PVSK) is changed.

Baran Tursun Foundation President Mehmet Tursun who stated that a capaign was launched in 2007 saying 'Police's hands are tied', said police was given the authority to shoot without hesitation as a result of this perception manipulation. Tursun stating that the police was equipped with unlimited powers as a result of the article 16 of PVSK, shared the information that 395 people were killed in these 12 years and the cases resulted in impunity or acquittal.

Tursun stating that the families of these 395 people will be searching for justice in front of the governmen's party building, said: "Now we too have learned that justice is being sought in front of political party builings. We will go there and ask if any of our children hurt the police somehow, and if they didn't, and they didn't, why did the police killed them? Why didn't these police were punished?" Mehmet Dursun contined: "The fact that the state killed our children is obvious. Is killing humans free in Turkey? If that is so, this is not a state of law. If it is not, why did those 395 people got killed? One of those who were killed was Mehmet Oytun, he was 17 months old. He was sitting on her mothers lap in the balcony. He was killed by police bomb. Enes Ata was going back home from school in Diyarbakır, he was 8 years old. Osman Aslı was supposed to join the army the day after, he had a permit in his pocket. He was taken under custody and killed by the police under custody. My son, Baran Tursun was killed on his birthdat. Every last one of them was going on their own way doing nothing, and they were killed by the police."

Tursun stating that justice is now being saught in front of party buildings, not in courts, said: "We will search for justice at the government's party building with all these families whose children were killed by a police bullet. The government is responsible for these deaths and that's why they are our interlocutors."
